At our hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, we specialize in providing psychiatric care for individuals who are suffering from mental health concerns, such as:

While a patient must have a primary diagnosis of a mental health disorder to meet criteria for admission to Methodist Jennie Edmundson Behavioral Health, our team is able to offer targeted care for individuals who are struggling with co-occurring addictions.
State-of-the-Art Inpatient Hospital
Our 96-bed inpatient hospital combines state-of-the-art amenities with modern comforts that allow patients to feel safe and at peace while they are in our care.
Our facility includes three distinct units, separated by population:
- 24 beds for children and adolescents
- 48 beds for adults
- 24 beds for senior adults
By separating our patients by age, we are able to tailor care to meet each person where they are developmentally.
Additional features of our hospital include:
- Patient bedrooms that are designed to be tranquil, restorative spaces
- Comfort rooms on every unit with a safely designed rocking chair and optional sensory items to encourage relaxation
- Modern gymnasium where patients can enjoy recreational activities like basketball, volleyball, and pickleball
- Outdoor garden spaces that provide calming, relaxing environments to encourage healing through a connection with nature
- Activity rooms with safe, comfortable furnishings where patients can build social connections and engage with peers
